Did you have a brilliant idea for a startup but were afraid to try it? Or maybe you’ve built an Open Source tool but couldn’t find a way to monetise it?
How to be a solopreneur, a company of one?
What’s so special about building a product that mimics your production traffic to Kafka, S3, Postgres, and more?
You can find that out thanks to a special guest, Michael Drogalis! Michael told us his story on building the product on your own terms. He shared many insights on how to start your journey, monetise your work, rewire your thinking and get your first customer. And beyond!
A year ago, he made a bold move and started his new journey:
That ended up launching ShadowTraffic: a containerized service for declaratively generating data, packed with knobs to mimic your production traffic to Kafka, S3, Postgres, and more.
This webinar will be an excellent chance to learn from Michael and his journey in building your product. It’s especially noteworthy that this is not his first venture. In 2013, he started an open-source stream processing project. Then, in 2016, he co-founded a company based on that project and built the first version of infinite storage for Apache Kafka. Then, Confluent acquired it in 2018.
We’ve also learned more about ShadowTraffic and why it’s special. I think the product is an exciting idea in the event streaming space, solving people’s real problems.
Big KUDOS to Michael for being so open on his journey and sharing all those insights.
Follow Michael on substack; he’s sharing his insights every week:

And, of course, check ShadowTraffic!
